Been awhile since I've eaten here. Came during the Memorial Day Weekend so everything was packed. Luckily my server Marijayne found me a table inside. They also have a back patio and outside seating in the front. Have been coming here for many years so know the menu well. Ordered the chicken and spinach enchiladas with rice and black beans along with a beer. Food was great as usual. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. Marianne was sweet as could be and took good care of me.
Was in town for a (very beloved) cousin's wedding, and on the list of recommended restaurants for those with spare time, La Playita was listed twice (deliberately). Zach was right, this place is excellent. Delicious food, friendly and quick service, stellar value. Highly recommend.
Where else can you get great food, great service and see the sand. We’re locals and have always appreciated La Playita. Great traditional Mexican food, great margaritas. Their prices are far lower than other restaurants in the area. Enrique and some of the other servers are basically comedians and great, attentive servers. Love the breakfast dishes, enchiladas, and carne asada burritos.
I had a hankering for some Mexican food and took a look around and found this place just a bit away from the main strip of Hermosa Beach. It's got a hole in the wall feel to it with its moderate dining area, but it feels so worked and cozy. The staff were incredibly friendly and made you feel welcome. Spanish and English are both welcome and service is great regardless. I got the breakfast burrito and it is decently sized, I was considering getting another item, but between that and the chips and salsa, I was stuffed and everything tasted great. Be sure to swing by if you want a quick and casual place to have some great Mexican food!
Our server had the greatest vibes and was very attentive. food was incredible and came out quickly, and the atmosphere was top notch. Get the margarita and make sure you at least get a taste of refried beans. We will be back!
Authentic local little gem! Everything was so good!!! The food was delicious, authentic and generous portions. The staff are extremely welcoming, attentive and caring. The margaritas were refreshing and yummy! And we got free nachos when we sat down. The interior is lovely and cosy, we absolutely loved this little hidden local place and to mention that the prices here were half compared to other venues in this area the staff were the best part

Quality food and location for modest prices. It is a very nice place with a cozy, comfortable atmosphere and attentive service. I really like the outdoor seating with a combination of shade and sun.
